I hold an MA (Hons) Degree in Modern Languages (English and Russian) from the University of Pisa, Italy, an MA Degree in English and American Studies from the University of Exeter, and an MA Degree in Applied Linguistics from the University of Exeter.

 

In 1989 I joined the University of Exeter as a member of staff teaching in the Department of Italian. In 1992 I was awarded a TEFL Teaching Certificate (English as a Foreign Language). In 1993 I joined the FLC in charge of the Italian modules.Since then I have taught Italian at all levels, including courses for the Evening Language Programme.

 

In 1998, and for the subsequent ten years, I was contracted out to teach Italian and Italian for Business at Agusta-Westland, Yeovil, as part of the language services to the comunity organised by the FLC. From 2002 to 2007 I taught at Plymouth University, Exeter Campus (Art and Design with Italian). From 2006 to 2011 I organised and taught the English/Italian/English modules for the MA in Applied Translation.

 

In 2017 the University of Exeter became a centre for the Plida Examination for people planning to leve or study in Italy. Since the beginning I was part of the team in charge of arranging and conducting the exams in the role of Examiner. I also organised courses open to the general public to prepare for the exam.

 

Throughout my teaching carreer I have strived to give my students a taste of Italy, its culture and character, through its language.
